NEWS: Launch of the CIRCUS project: international partnership for the circular economy in the agri-food systems of the Adriatic-Ionian

On 14 October 2024, in Cavtat (Konavle), Croatia, the CIRCUS project, funded by the Interreg IPA Adrion programme, officially started.
The initiative involves a large partnership of institutions from Italy, Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Greece and Montenegro, with the aim of supporting the transition towards a circular economy model in the agri-food systems of the coastal communities of the Adriatic and Ionian.
During the inaugural meeting, the partners outlined the main objectives of the project and discussed the operational strategies for the next months. The event was an important opportunity for discussion and coordination to start a shared path towards the development of innovative solutions, with a particular focus on best practices and pilot actions to support sustainability and territorial resilience.
The CIRCUS project aims to promote a more efficient use of resources, the reduction of waste and the integration of more sustainable production and consumption models in agri-food systems, strengthening transnational cooperation and enhancing synergies with other existing initiatives.
Thanks to this international collaboration, the project lays the foundations for a significant transformation of agri-food systems, contributing to economic growth and the well-being of local communities in a long-term sustainability perspective.
