NEWS: CIRCUS IN TRICASE: TWO DAYS DEDICATED TO THE TRANSITION OF AGRIFOOD SYSTEMS

The Bootcamp of the project CIRCUS – Circular economy strategies, action plans and solutions for agrifood system transition in Adrion coastal communities project – funded by the European Interreg IPA Adrion programme – took place on 23 and 24 September 2025 in Tricase, at the CIHEAM Bari headquarters.

All project partners—from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, and the two Italian partners—gathered to strengthen dialogue and foster transnational cooperation across the Adriatic-Ionian region.

The Bootcamp represented a highly significant opportunity for operational discussion: each municipality presented its local development strategy and related action plan, laying the foundation for the development of concrete initiatives in the local areas.

The meeting helped identify common ground between different local approaches, with the aim of defining a common strategy for the entire Adriatic-Ionian region, with shared guidelines for promoting sustainable, resilient, and innovative growth models.

The two-day event included a workshop at the Food4Health community lab, a concrete example of a good practice already established in Tricase, allowing participants to observe an effective and replicable model of local cooperation and development.

Another significant moment was dedicated to the presentation of local best practices in the circular economy, virtuous examples of initiatives already implemented at the local level with positive environmental, economic, and social impacts, useful for inspiring and guiding further action in partner territories.
